The most important skill to have is an aptitude for problem solving, but it is also helpful to have a familiarity with:
- 编程 (Python is the most commonly used general-purpose language—and it's free.)
- 统计软件 (R is the most widely-used statistical software. It’s free, and the interface R Studio, also free, can make getting started a little easier.)
- 可视化软件 (Both Python and R have great visualization capabilities; Tableau is a standalone product that you can get a free student license for, and you’ll find that you can teach yourself a lot.)
